About this part

The Bykski 8+4 5v Addressable RGB (RBW) Light Controller Module allows you to control your A-RGB LED components with a handy remote. The controller is capable of standard functions like on/off and speed adjustment. More advanced controls include the brightness as well as mode selection. A motherboard sync cable is also included for use with 3-pin 5v aRGB headers.

The description isn't that clear and if you're new to custom water cooling and rgb lighting it may be difficult to know if this would work for you.

So my motherboard only has a 12v rgb header. I bought a Bykski rgb cpu water block, rgb reservoir pump combo and 14mm hard tube rgb fittings. They are 5v rgb. Plugging those components directly into one of the LED connections on the light controller module allows you to control them via remote so you can by pass your motherboard rgb controller.

Also when you boot the system it starts on whatever color or program you selected last. You can have your pc light up in green only or rgb. I believe you can also program it which I haven't done yet.

Before you install it

This is a component, not an assembly — how it goes in depends on the loop it is joining. What does not change is the last step: leak test before power. Run the pump on a bench supply with the rest of the system unpowered. 24 hours is the standard, an hour is the minimum.

Custom water cooling is installed by you, at your own risk. We are not responsible for leaks, or for damage to your parts or system. If you're unsure at any step, ask before you power the loop.
