Six sockets.
One copper plate.

A copper water block for AM4 / AM5 / TR4 / sTRX4 / sWRX8 / SP3. The mounting kit in the box covers every socket listed on this page.

G1/4
Ports
The part that touches the CPU

The cold plate

Nickel-plated T2 copper, PMMA and aluminum top.

The channels are machined into the copper base. Coolant enters over the center of the plate, directly above the hottest part of the chip, and spreads out through the channels to both sides.

The nickel finish keeps the copper from tarnishing in the loop.

Compatibility is decided by the socket, not the chip name

Check the socket on your board

The block fits the sockets below and nothing else. Look up the socket for your motherboard, not the processor's name. Which socket is my CPU?

AM4Ryzen 1000 to 5000Backplate mount
AM5Ryzen 7000 to 9000Backplate mount
TR4Threadripper 1000 and 2000Socket-frame posts

sWRX8Threadripper PRO 3000WX and 5000WXSocket-frame posts
SP3EPYC 7001 to 7003Socket-frame posts
The one mistake that costs temperature

The inlet is marked. Use it.

The two ports are not interchangeable. Coolant has to go in through the inlet so it lands on the center of the plate. Plumbed the wrong way round, the block still works but runs warmer, and nothing about it looks wrong.

Both ports are standard G1/4, so any G1/4 fitting fits.

About this part

The Bykski CPU-RAY-ON-M fits Ryzen 9000 and 7000, EPYC 7003 and Threadripper PRO 5000WX on AM5, AM4, TR4, sTRX4, sWRX8 and SP3. It moves the heat a long gaming or rendering session builds up off the IHS and into your loop, so the build runs quieter.

A nickel-plated copper cold plate sits under a clear PMMA top, and a color LCD shows the temperature while the build runs.

The second compatibility question

Check the space around the socket

Fitting the socket is the first question. The second is whether the block has room: it measures 120 x 87 x 24 mm. Check what sits next to the socket on your board.

The usual problem is an M.2 heatsink right beside the socket. The first memory slot and tall heatsinks around the socket are the next things to check.

Lighting

5V 3-pin ARGB only

The lighting strip plugs into a 5V 3-pin addressable header, labeled ARGB or ADD_HEADER on most boards, or into an ARGB controller.

Do not plug it into a 12V 4-pin RGB headerThe plugs look similar. A 12V header will burn out the strip the moment the machine powers on.
Installing it

Four things decide your temperatures

  1. 01Clean the CPU and the plate, and peel the film. Isopropyl on both until they are dry. Protective film left on the base is the most common cause of a block that "doesn't work".
  2. 02Paste on the CPU, not a pad. A pea-sized dot on a desktop CPU. Thin lines from edge to edge on Threadripper, EPYC and Xeon, where a single dot misses the outer chiplets.
  3. 03Tighten in a cross pattern, finger tight. A turn at a time on each screw. Over-tightening can crack the top or bend the socket's retention frame.
  4. 04Inlet to the inlet, then leak-test before power. Run the pump alone for 30 minutes with paper towel under every joint.

No paper instructions in the box. The installation illustration is in the product images above.

Awesome cooling block

Awesome cooling block as it also displays the temp of the coolant. My only complaint is that it still uses molex to power the damn thing, so I'm docking a star off that.

Questions people ask about this part

Answers specific to CPU-RAY-ON-M. If yours isn't here, ask — we'd rather talk you out of the wrong part than sell you one.

Will it fit my CPU?
It fits the sockets listed on this page and nothing else. Compatibility is decided by the socket on your motherboard, not the processor's name. Not sure which socket you have? Send us the board model and we will check.
Do I need a backplate?
Desktop sockets (AM4, AM5 and the Intel desktop sockets) mount through a backplate, and it is in the box. Threadripper, EPYC and Xeon sockets have no backplate: the block screws straight into the posts on the socket frame.
Which port is the inlet?
It is marked on the block and shown in the installation illustration in the product images. The wrong way round still works but runs warmer, so it is worth getting right.
Will it clear the parts around my socket?
Check the M.2 heatsink next to the socket first, then the first memory slot and any tall heatsinks around the socket. The block dimensions are on this page. If you are unsure, send us a photo of the board around the socket.
Can I use it with an aluminum radiator?
No. Copper and aluminum in the same loop corrode each other. Keep the loop copper, brass and nickel.
Is shipping free?
Shipping is free on orders over $125 to addresses in the lower 48 US states.
Do I need anything else to use it?
A CPU block is one part of a loop: you also need a pump, a radiator, fittings, tubing and coolant. Thermal paste and the mounting hardware are in the box. If you are starting from nothing, send us your parts list and we will tell you what is missing.
Who handles the warranty?
BYKSKI.US, the exclusive US distributor, from Boise, Idaho. Claims are handled domestically rather than returned to an overseas factory.

Ask us before you order

Send your exact hardware model and we'll confirm the right part before you spend $117.99 — or tell you honestly that this isn't the one.

Returns are accepted within 30 days and are easy to start in the support center. Unopened items can be returned for store credit with no restocking fee; other returns carry a restocking fee, higher for items that have been installed or used.
